H. Construction Company of Delaware, Inc. views each contract as an agreement not between a business and its customers, but between partners that wish to create a close and mutually beneficial long-term relationship.

H. Construction Company of Delaware, Inc. continues to make a difference in its approach to construction projects.  We’ve been in existence since 1985, managing, superintending and building construction projects.    Our system for tracking and managing projects has greatly enhanced our capabilities of completing numerous projects on time and ahead of schedule.   The Company provides its General Contracting Services in the most timely manner and with on going comprehensive quality control program to provide 100% customer satisfaction.

The Company consists of two principal officers with combined industry experience of 57 years.  McClennon R. Holmes, CEO/Director has 40 years experience to date in Construction and Project Management skills and has achieved cost-effective methods through value engineering and creative concepts toward bidding and estimating projects.    Paula D. Holmes, Vice-President/Director has 19 years in Strategic planning, Assisting the CEO, Comptroller and accounting duties.

OPERATIONS

H Construction Company’s safety program insures that all employees as well as anyone involved in our activities can work in a safe and harm-free environment. We are actively involved in safety training, regular review of accident reports, and careful observation which allows us to remain aware of and eliminate any and all safety hazards.

As Project Manager we are dedicated to value engineering. We have staffed our company with people who consistently work on researching and integrating new and innovative methods in addition to traditional construction standards. This includes life cycle cost considerations. Our foremost goal in these endeavors is to maintain quality and safety while enhancing value.

 H. Construction Company has been developed through extensive professional practices initiated by CEO & President of the company, McClennon R. Holmes.   With 20+ years experience through project management opportunities in the United States Air Force, he has specialized in Civil Engineering of structural design/build solutions to enhance mission readiness of the force (Pre-Engineered Size Range: 5,000 SF to 100,000 SF).  Operation and Maintenance Divisions have called upon his expertise to analyze and streamline work forces and supply channels.  Mr. Holmes continued to grow in the field of Construction and Project Management resulting in over 39 years experience to date.

Mr. Holmes has acquired cost-effective methods through value engineering and creative concepts toward bidding and estimating projects.  The needs of the client are placed first and projects are tailored to these needs and limitations.  Craftsmanship quality is assured through on site educational experiences from project managers, construction supervisors and subcontractors.   Leadership of workforces is enhanced through team empowerment and task oriented assignments.

H. Construction Company of DE Inc. has since completed a 1.8 million dollar contract for First Pilgrim Baptist Church – Camden, DE (12,900 SF); Expansion of Bldg #15 Parking Lot for Veterans Administration Hospital – Wilmington, DE  (14,000 SF) and a Custom-Built House – Camden, DE $900,000.00 (9,600 SF) as well as a variety of other projects.  Our experience with demolition and renovations has been numerous.  Projects include:  Positive Outcome Charter School $297,580.57 (6,000 SF);  DAFB Entomology Bldg (2,000 SF); Delaware State Housing Authority 5 Yr Maintenance Contract (multiple repair projects); Delaware State Housing Authority Neighborhood Revitalization Fund  (multiple revitalization projects); First State Community Action Group – Kent and Sussex Counties (yearly contract for multiple revitalization projects); Renovations of Wing Command Section – Dover AFB, Dover, DE, just to name a few.

In the construction of projects, from initial layout of final assembly through H. Construction’s interpretation and application of building contracts, specifications, blueprints, architectural designs through usage of AutoCAD, and other guides and building codes.  H.
